Troop 12 Annual Campsgiving Celebration

Every year about this time, Troop 12 likes to celebrate the holiday season with our Scouting family. It makes for not only a great opportunity to Do Stuff Outside, but it’s a special moment to be able to give thanks for one another, and the opportunities we get to enjoy together, while working together to create those opportunities.

Normally, overnight camping is a part of the tradition. But due to the ongoing pandemic, overnight camping is currently on hold. But a Scout adapts!

Putting down metaphorical stakes at Buck Hill Scout Reservation is Pascoag, RI, Troop 12 got to enjoy a fantastic autumn day that featured another five mile hike to the Tri State Marker (where corners of RI, MA, and CT all meet), more map and compass work, a service project, and of course. A Campsgiving Dinner, featuring Trash Can Roasted Turkey.

Special thanks to our own on-staff Master Chef Marty for continuing to contribute his culinary and kitchen expertise. You’ve definitely earned your Troop 12 version of a Michelin Star. We’re incredibly lucky to have you and your family!
